Welcome to my newest acrobatic act- the #TipTuesday series. Here are the #TipTuesday tips posted on Instagram this month!
Happy #TipTuesday peeps. Today’s tip is… When choosing between green tea and the on trend matcha… Go bottoms up with Matcha- a Japanese tea made from fine green powder…
Because we consume the leaves when drinking Matcha tea (unlike others, where we steep the leaves and then throw them out), the antioxidant content is higher than other teas—including L-theanine, an amino acid not usually found in tea. Given its high nutrient content, matcha tea can promote health—along with an overall healthy diet (think fruit, veg, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds)
Another Tuesday, another tip 🤗🤓. This #tiptuesday I say… KEEP SESAME SEEDS IN THE PANTRY- here’s why to #findyourbalance .
These little guys, in whole seed form or as a paste- tahini, are an excellent source of iron and calcium and can be used in savory or sweet dishes to add layers of flavor. Try sesame seeds in a cabbage salad with Asian style ginger dressing or finish your next stir fry with a topping of chopped scallions and sesame seeds. For my sweet tooths out there- spread tahini on toast with a drizzle of honey and sprink of cinnamon for a Baklava Style Toast!
‘Tis the season for PSL and all other holiday drinks. And this tip Tuesday I say- “THINK BEFORE YOU DRINK”.– Before you make that latte with whip a morning staple… consider this.. A tall and seemingly modest (12 oz) non-fat Pumpkin Spice Latte has 260 calories and 39 g of sugar while a Starbucks house coffee with a pump of the pumpkin syrup and milk has about 45 calories and 5 g sugar. Looking for a treat?, I say go for slightly sweet to #findyourbalance.
